What is Love

Only time will tell
if passions disintegrate, breaking the spell
then nothing much existed in the first place
it isn't true love I attempt to abase

only our selfish idea of what love is
our self absorbed idea of what love isn't

love is serving
not just eyes unnerving
ecstasy unswerving
love is serving

Love is patient, love is kind
love is a covenant two souls bind

love does not envy, love does not boast
love endures when commitment could coast

love is not proud, love is not rude
from love true compassion will exude

love always trusts,love always hopes
love is strong enough to break fear's ropes

Love never fails
in earth's danger love never pales

Love cannot be bought nor sold
love is not emotion too fleeting to hold
genuine love will last
love overcomes the past

Where can we find love?
For me from God above,
first and foremost he will remain
My constant chorus, returning refrain

But, perhaps, there is more
God himself has love in store
So God I will seek
pleading for a single peek

I will wait on you, Christ my king
for my serendipitous song to sing
and when your will I find
to him love will bind

Zeal

Zeal is not a noun often tossed around nowadays; what, you've been called zealous lately? If one were asked "How are you?" they probably would not answer "very zealous, and you?" Defined by the dictionary zeal is;

"fervor for a person, cause, or object; eager desire or endeavor;enthusiastic diligence; ardor."

No wonder we do not often hear of zealous people. How many beat with passion for their very existence? How often are we fervent, for anything? Do we have a single cause we would give our life for? A single reason to live? What is it that you eagerly desire, above all else? And why do you strive towards that desire above any other? What in your life is worth living for?
